Our History

Originally hailing from Yorkshire, James graduated from Birmingham’s renowned School of Jewellery in 1998, establishing James Newman Jewellery in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. In 2001, James relocated to 49 Vyse Street, establishing first a manufacturing workshop and then a retail store in 2008. Continued growth has meant a growing team of master goldsmiths and a firmly established place in the UK’s jewellery making industry.

Master Goldsmith
James has long been an advocate for the industry and has previously served as Guardian of the Assay Office, and independent designer maker representative on the British Jewellery Association committee. His work has brought him to the attention of household names and has generated collaborations and commissions with John Lewis Partnership, fashion designer Neil Barrett and Lacoste amongst others.

We are dedicated to being part of both the preservation and growth of the jewellery industry in Birmingham and are proud to have established one of the few UK based, independent designer jewellers, making our own unique designs in house, for clients across the globe. James has made it his business to seek out and nurture the finest talent within the industry and currently leads a growing team, all of whom are committed to providing customers with a memorable and unique experience.
